Lawyer

Kulik Hottelier is expanding its team and is looking for a lawyer for its Martigny and Vevey offices.

You enjoy the profession: understanding a case, defining a strategy, advising the client, negotiating when possible and litigating when necessary. You have a few years of practice behind you and are able to take responsibility for your own cases, within a small team where legal questions and strategy are discussed directly between lawyers.

The work

Our practice is primarily devoted to family law: divorce and separation, parental authority and custody, maintenance, the settlement of matrimonial property and financial matters, and cases with tax or international dimensions.

You progressively take full responsibility for the cases entrusted to you: contact with clients and other counsel, strategy, drafting, negotiations and hearings. Complex cases are discussed as a team: autonomy does not mean facing a difficulty alone.

The profile

We are looking for a lawyer with a few years of practice who is able to handle a court case from start to finish.

Experience in family law is an advantage, not a requirement: a strong litigation profile wishing to specialise in this field interests us just as much. The quality of your reasoning, your reliability and your sense of responsibility matter more to us than the number of years since your bar admission.

The position is also suited to a more experienced profile — including someone currently practising independently — who wishes to maintain a demanding legal practice, part-time if desired, without the administrative and entrepreneurial burdens of running a firm.

We are a small team: direct relationships, quick decisions and little hierarchy.

The firm has worked with fully digital files since 2011. This organisation makes remote work possible in very good conditions and allows for a share of home-office work whenever cases, hearings and appointments permit.

We care about the quality of the work, meeting deadlines and being available to clients. On the other hand, we attach little importance to presenteeism: everyone enjoys genuine latitude in organising their work and their time.

We encourage continuing education. If you wish to develop a specialisation, undertake a university programme or obtain the title of SBA Certified Specialist, we agree on terms that make the project compatible with your practice and support it over time.

Conditions

• Activity rate between 80 and 100%; a lower rate may be considered for an experienced profile where the organisation of the cases allows it.
• Remuneration evolving with experience, degree of autonomy and responsibilities assumed.
• Holidays and working arrangements agreed individually according to profile and personal circumstances.
• Main place of work in Martigny with a secondary presence in Vevey, or the reverse.
• Languages: French and English; any other language is an asset.
• Start date by agreement.
